Bootique

A frightfully fun update to Petco’s seasonal brand.

Inspiration board

One of my favorite projects was updating Petco’s Halloween brand, Bootique. The previous iteration used a simple bone motif.

For this update, I drew inspiration from the delicate lines and framing of tarot cards and stained glass signage to create a festive, unique frieze with a bolder logotype.

As pack dimensions vary so much in this selection, including costumes, toys, and treats, flexibility is important. The playful iconography of autumn leaves, magical sparkles and creature features can shuffle and swap quite easily.

Costume header card and hangtag.

Petco’s in-store team expanded the system by adding more colors, pet icons and playful framing for signage. What a scream!

This cat scratcher house and chewable small animal house frame up like horror novels, without clashing with the product’s own graphics.

And don’t forget the treats!
