Suja

Bold, colorful packaging for an innovative juice brand.

For the launch of Suja’s Kombucha line, labels needed to retain the playful nature of the parent brand. At the time, juices featured word clouds of ingredients and punny sayings, seen here.

To shake things up, Kombucha pivots away from the ingredients list and focuses on flavor and fun. Each SKU has a unique geometric pattern and two tonal colors, while the core benefit takes center stage.

Initial lineup and mini sampler pack

For tap handles, we looked back to Suja’s beachy San Diego roots, and transformed them into unique, eye-catching surfboards.

I also worked on another one of Suja’s innovations, a totally vegan Plant Protein Milk. These live comfortably in a dairy case, but aren’t shy about being dairy-free.

More than just a clean front of pack, I like it when an entire label tells one simple, fluid story. In this case, it’s all about the integrity of the ingredients.

For Suja’s line of 2oz wellness shots, their small size demanded simplicity. Suja’s classic color-blocking all points to one central benefit that emerges from the juice itself.

Even Suja’s smaller promotions were playful and fresh, as playing with the whole rainbow was encouraged:
